SOTE is an independent Warwick school that offers a supportive environment for children to learn, to be inspired and to nurture their inherent spirit and character. We bring academia, character development, service and community together to help students grow into contributive, confident and capable human beings.
WHAT WE DO DIFFERENTLY
A holistic approach to educating young minds in Warwick from P-12
We believe that developing a child’s natural interest in knowledge is key to having a good attitude to learning. At SOTE, we encourage curiosity and enable students to explore their talents beyond traditional foundations. We do this by delivering a
holistic education
that focuses on 6 key development areas.
Character
Health
Academia
Interests
Community
Relationships
Character
A person’s success in life largely depends on what kind of person they become. Of course, all children need key academic skills but having the ability to manage themselves, their emotional life, their successes and failures is just as crucial.
Health
Adequate rest, a good diet, physical wellbeing and having the capacity for mental quietness are conducive to reaching potential. Our curriculum places importance on healthy lifestyles to ensure students are well equipped to be their best.
Academia
Through nurturing intrinsic motivation and self-discipline, our students are encouraged to reach academic excellence in a way that speaks to their unique talents and developing interests.
Interests
Our small class sizes mean that teachers can teach to the students’ interests and abilities. All interests are valued, whether academic, creative or any other gift.
Community
They say it takes a village to raise a child. SOTE invites parents, teachers and children to be part of a caring community with shared values and mutual support.
Relationships
Positive relationships based on kindness are the foundation on which we’ve built our community. We value strong relationships and believe them to be critical for healthy student development.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our children are more than the sum of their academic achievements.
Our curriculum brings the four key pillars of
Total Education
on equal measure to the forefront of learning:
Nurture uniqueness and spirit
Balance academic learning with character development
Encourage cooperation and intrinsic motivation
Support learning through community engagement

WHAT OUR STUDENTS,

What the Warwick school community loves about our school
“My daughter has grown in confidence and is developing a strong love for learning through the nurturing guidance from her teachers. Our family feels valued and respected, making the school a welcoming place to attend each day.”
CHANTAL – SOTE PARENT
“I feel that SOTE is preparing and supporting me well for the future both academically and socially.  I have learnt to deal with and handle problems with others when they come up instead of running away from them or changing friends.  I have learnt that I will always have support from the school community, even after I graduate. ”
MACKENZIE – YEAR 9 STUDENT
“As a teacher, the first thing I noticed when I arrived at the school was not the positive attributes of the school — small classes, quality resources, supportive colleagues and the friendly atmosphere — but the things that were missing. Without violence, graffiti, swearing, drugs, truancy, bullying, fear, disrespect, discrimination and theft, I am free to teach.”
