From THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR'S DESK
Welcome!
Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu (FNHE) was initially established in 1962 as an Outpatient Unit located at the blood bank of General Hospital Enugu. Shortly after the Biafran-Nigerian Civil War in 1970, the hospital was later moved to a private facility and subsequently to its current site at Chime Avenue, New Haven, Enugu. The hospital was taken over by the Federal Government in 1995 from the State Government and it provides mental health services to people of South-East, some parts of South-South and North-Central Geopolitical Zones. Since inception as a Federal Government facility, three chief executives had laboured to bring it to its current status.

My Vision is for Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu to become the leading tertiary health institution in the provision of high standards of comprehensive mental health services, research and training of mental health professionals in Nigeria.
