New legal obligations
The Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) 2017 has placed new legal obligations on local authorities to ensure that everyone who is homeless, or at risk of homelessness, will have access to meaningful help, irrespective of their priority need status, as long as they are eligible for assistance.
Providing homeless with
Positive sustainable outcomes
In an effort to address these specific challenges for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, FurtherMore works with local authorities around London to assist with their mission to prevent homelessness, improve overall well-being for those worked with and to reduce social and economic exclusion.
Whilst providing housing is part of the solution, addressing the multitude of support needs that often accompanies homelessness is arguably of equal importance. Once housed, undertaking daily tasks can often prove to be overwhelming and extremely challenging for individuals suffering with homelessness. The provision of effective support during this vulnerable period is pivotal in providing effective solutions to the homelessness crisis. Creating effective processes to assist homeless people with issues such as budgeting, life skills, drug or alcohol misuse, and avoiding offending behaviour, amongst many others, is key in ensuring positive sustainable outcomes.
