ABOUT US
FRESH New London is a food justice nonprofit organization committed to advancing systemic change within the local food system through urban agriculture, community engagement, and youth leadership development. Our mission is to confront and dismantle systemic inequities to ensure that all individuals have equitable access to locally grown, culturally relevant food, obtained with dignity. Through urban farming, youth empowerment, and collaborative community partnerships, we work to cultivate a just and resilient food future for New London.
We envision a robust, equitable, and sustainable food system in New London-one that is inclusive, community-centered, and capable of providing all residents with consistent access to locally grown, culturally appropriate food while strengthening local resilience and social equity.
What We Do
Empowering Youth
We work with young people to increase their impact in the community. We help youth find and develop their voice in order to create a more sustainable and just food system.
Reclaiming Space
We reclaim urban spaces as farms, gardens, and community green spaces. Growing food in the city gives us power and control over our food and land!
Connecting Community
We bring together our community to connect, grow our collective power, and make systemic change. We strive to create opportunities for develop a deeper relationship with one another and with their environment.
