Café, Garden & Fernery opening dates and times for 2026:
8 January – 20 December: Thurs to Sun, doors are open 10am to 4pm. Our full menu is available from 10am – 3pm, last orders for coffee and cake at 3.45pm.

Tours of the House, Garden and Memorial Chapel are available April – October. Please note there is no public access to Hospitalfield House outside of the tours. Private group tours can be arranged, please contact Robin de Vries

Book Now : Spring & Summer Wood-Firing Workshops
This residential workshop will give the opportunity of firing your own ceramic pieces in our newly built kiln, and you will receive an introduction to the process that will enable you to go on and fire your own woodfired kiln in the future.

Introducing the Artists Selected fothe Graduate Residency 2026
Hospitalfield is pleased to introduce the artist selected for the Graduate Residency 2026.

I May Never See You: Rebecca Chesney
In 2024 Hospitalfield commissioned artist Rebecca Chesney as our first horticulture Artist in Residence.
For her residency over 2024-2025 Rebecca has been noticing and observing local species that are ‘on the edge’ and in particular that of the Small Blue butterfly

Hospitalfield Collections
Hospitalfield’s collections continue to grow with a selection of 21st century artworks acquired through our art projects. The original collection was mainly built up by Patrick and Elizabeth Allan Fraser and has at its core paintings and sculptures commissioned by the couple in the 19th century. It also includes painting by Patrick Allan Fraser, works on paper, the library, an archive and 20th century works by artists who have studied and taught at Hospitalfield.
