Max’s story
Lisa, our advocate, tells how a very ordinary situation in aged care nearly ruined her client’s life, by trapping him in Guardianship.
‘Max’ (not his real name) had his rights ignored but Lisa worked with him to get his rights restored and get him off the Guardianship order. This is important viewing, it happens too easily and too frequently.

Deborah’s Story
The provider over-charged and ignored Deborah, but they didn’t bank on her teaming up with our advocate.
When Deborah’s home care package provider, Community Care Tasmania was providing statements that didn’t make sense, and they didn’t respond to her questions, she decided to do something about it.
She contacted Advocacy Tasmania and advocate Mark worked with her to get to the bottom of the financial situation.

Judi’s Story
Being granted a wheelchair accessible home, shouldn’t have to feel like ‘winning the lottery’ but unfortunately, it did for Judi.
Judi had been happily living in a private rental when injuries reduced her mobility and required the use of a wheelchair. Without a ramp and without a wheelchair- accessible bathroom and laundry, Judi was unable to leave the house or live normally, for months.
