The 169-bed hospital features seven surgical suites, a 24/7 Emergency Department, a dedicated wound care center, dialysis services, and a pediatric CASTLE program. The hospital has clinical strengths in podiatry, vascular, general, colorectal, and urologic surgery, and is widely recognized for excellence in behavioral health, gastroenterology, and wound care. Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey partners with Virtua for on-site extended hospital stays.

Virtua Willingboro’s behavioral health team provides hospital-based therapies to stabilize and support patients experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health challenges. Care focuses on ensuring medical safety and preparing patients for a successful transition to outpatient treatment.
The hospital offers four specialized units to meet the needs of the community:
Crisis:
Virtua Willingboro is Burlington County’s designated emergency screening and crisis intervention program (SCIP).
Short-Term Care:
An involuntary-admission unit for patients who pose a risk to themselves or others, offering emergency stabilization, individual assessments, and short inpatient stays.
Mental Health Unit:
A voluntary unit supporting patients with acute or chronic psychiatric disorders, including those involving substance use, hallucination, suicide risk, or severe mood and anxiety conditions.
Behavioral Health Unit:
A program serving adult patients who voluntarily seek care for acute or chronic psychiatric conditions, integrated with the management of their concurrent medical needs.
Virtua Willingboro provides 24/7 emergency care delivered by physicians and nurses specially trained to address acute medical needs. The ER includes a PromptCare area for patients with less-serious illnesses or injuries, designed to reduce wait times and ensure quicker access to treatment for non-life-threatening conditions.

An interventional radiology/special procedures suite with state-of-the-art equipment that provides physicians with crisp, detailed imagery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of diseases or disorders
Multispecialty infusion unit, including chemotherapy for cancer treatment
Diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions like peripheral artery disease
Noninvasive cardiac testing, including exercise stress tests and transesophageal echocardiography
Comprehensive wound care center, including hyperbaric oxygen treatment
