Welcome to WAE
Founded in 2004, the Women’s Academy of Excellence (WAE) is a single-gender, public school that blends community warmth with academic rigor. Rooted in our core values of LEADS — Leadership, Empowerment, Academic Excellence, Dedication, and Sisterhood — we empower young women to lead with purpose and confidence. At WAE, students cultivate curiosity, creativity, and voice as they grow into lifelong learners and leaders who uplift their communities and the world.

Student Of The Month
Chelsea Addo (9th Grade Class 102)
I feel proud of the hard work I put into school. I always try my best in my classes and make sure to complete my assignments on time. I participate in class and ask questions when I need help because I want to understand the lessons better. I also try to be respectful to my teachers and classmates and help others when they need it. Outside of my schoolwork, I stay focused on my goals and try to be a positive example for others. Being chosen as student of the month motivates me to keep working hard, stay dedicated to my education and continue improving every day.
Student Of The Month
Maame Sarpong Bempomaa (12th)
As a senior, I’ve worked hard to balance my academics, responsibilities, and personal growth, and being chosen as Student of the Month means a lot to me. I always try to show up with a positive attitude, stay focused, and push myself to do better, whether it’s in class, group projects, or helping others. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to finish my last year strong while setting a good example for the students coming after me.
Student Of The Month
Ashley Addo (10th)
At the Women’s Academy of Excellence (WAE), we empower young women to lead with purpose. Tasnim Tahasina exemplifies our L.E.A.D.S. values—Leadership, Empowerment, Academic Excellence, Dedication, and Sisterhood. As WAE'S District 8 Student Council Representative, represent student voice through class visits in her capacity as a member of the Instructional Student Leadership Team, and peer tutor who uplifts others, Tasnim’s voice has strengthened instruction, inspired her peers, and helped launch After-School Office Hours—a true reflection of leadership in action.
