Our Mission
A Bilingual Education
We believe that language is a gateway to the world, and our unique approach ensures that every child receives a comprehensive education in both English and Spanish. At Bruce-Monroe, students have a Spanish teacher as well as an English teacher. By immersing students in a bilingual environment, they not only become fluent in two languages but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures.
School Culture
We pride ourselves on cultivating an inclusive and nurturing school culture. In our classrooms, students are encouraged to embrace a growth mindset, understanding that challenges are opportunities for growth. Our motto “In lak’ech” reminds us that “I am you and you are me”, allowing us to create a shared sense of community among students and staff.
Life-Long Learning
We believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing the skills and mindset to continue learning throughout life. Our teachers are committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a thirst for knowledge. At Bruce-Monroe, students have the opportunity to continue their learning and passions after school through a wide variety of programs like dance, soccer, capoeira, art, and more! We prepare our students to adapt to a rapidly changing world, where the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn is vital.
