Dear Students, Faculty, Researchers, Administrative Staff, Alumni, Partners, and Visitors,
It is with great pride and a profound sense of responsibility that I welcome you to Ambo University, one of Ethiopia’s oldest and most respected higher education institutions. As President of this distinguished university, I am honored to serve a community that is deeply committed to academic excellence, social responsibility, and national development.
Established in 1947 as a school of Agriculture, our university has evolved significantly over the decades. Today, Ambo University stands as a prominent public academic institution with multiple campuses, diverse faculties, and over 20,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Our rich history is not just a testament to longevity, but a reflection of resilience, innovation, and an enduring commitment to serving the people of Ethiopia. Generations of graduates from Ambo University have gone on to become leaders, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, and civil servants — contributing significantly to the nation’s progress.
