Over Five Decades of
Medical Excellence
Nalanda Medical College & Hospital (NMCH), Patna, was
founded in 1970
through the visionary leadership of distinguished medical professionals — Dr. Vijay Narayan Singh, Dr. Madhusudan Das, and Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha — in collaboration with Shri Krishna Kant Singh, the then Education Minister of Bihar.
The institution was established with the mission to
produce skilled, compassionate, and service-driven medical professionals
to meet the growing healthcare needs of society. Spread across approximately 100 acres, the college campus is located on Old Bypass Road, Kankarbagh, Patna, while the hospital is situated at Agamkuan.
Over five decades, NMCH has evolved significantly in academic excellence, infrastructure, and patient care.
Alumni of NMCH are actively serving in prestigious medical institutions across India and abroad.
The institution today stands as one of Bihar’s most important government medical colleges, recognised by the National Medical Commission.
