Acknowledgement of Indigenous Custodianship
At Melton Christian College we acknowledge God as Creator and all people as his beloved children. Therefore, since the earth is the Lord’s, we see our school community as custodians rather than owners of the properties we use. So, it is with great respect that we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we have our campuses. For a long time, long before us, the Wurrundjeri People of the Kulin Nation made their homes here, lived their lives here, and taught and nurtured their children here; here in these places that once again are used to teach and nurture children. In acknowledging the Wurrundjeri people who previously taught children on this land, we commit to using this place respectfully, and with a heart for reconciliation.
