DA Hosts 2026 Symposium: Flip the Script on Anxiety
3/19/2026
The DA community recently came together for an inspiring adult-only evening at the 2026 DA Symposium: Flip the Script on Anxiety. Held in mid-March, the event featured Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, author of
Future Tense: Why Anxiety Is Good For You (Even Though It Feels Bad)
. She explored the surprising benefits of anxiety and how to harness it for growth. Dr. Dennis-Tiwary also spoke to DA Middle School and DA High School students during the school day.
DA Parents and educators who attended gained fresh insights into guiding youth through today’s challenges with resilience and purpose, including:
Discovering the science behind anxiety as a strength
Learning strategies to support anxious children and teens
Reframing anxiety to empower growth and success
Thank you to the
DA Parent Association (DAPA)
for hosting a lively social hour prior to the event.
Learn more about Dr. Dennis-Tiwary here.

DA Campos SmartLabs Foster Educational Growth
3/11/2026
Did you know? Denver Academy has three Campos SmartLabs dedicated to elementary, sixth-grade, middle school, and high school students. These three labs ignite passions and create a learning pathway through progressively advanced skills and concepts, paving the way for a future in STEM.
In the words of Lower School Campos SmartLab Teacher Thomas Laird, “With the lower school SmartLab programming, we have made strides within our robotics team. Yes, you read that correctly, DA has a robotics team! We have been learning coding, engineering, mathematics, and problem-solving through SmartLab programming and have successfully competed in the LEGO First Robotics Challenge for our third season. Through our middle school robotics team, we have seen these students become leaders when they get into the high school level SmartLab classes and the high school robotics team, the Hurricane Nuts.”

DA Shines as a Star School Partner in Comic "Solar Stars vs Dark Matter – The Battle Over Climate Change"
12/3/2025
DA is proud to be featured as a Star School Partner in the new interactive comic book
Solar Stars vs Dark Matter – The Battle Over Climate Change, Issue #1
. Created by local educator and author Adam Hall, the project was inspired by DA students’ long-standing commitment to sustainability and innovation. From the Green JEDI student group’s work in helping secure a 1kW pilot solar array in 2007, to students
racing solar cars
in the 2019 Solar Star Challenge, DA’s leadership in renewable energy education has a long history and continues to inspire. Hall is the chief star organizer and executive director of
Million Solar Stars
, an organization whose mission is to engage one million students in the process of scaling up solar power at 100% schools globally.
Solar Stars vs Dark Matter
will be available soon in the DA library. Copies may be purchased
here
for $9.99 (+tax and shipping). Proceeds will fund the second issue, and students are invited to submit superhero, villain, and story ideas through the
Solar Star Comic Challenge
. Special thanks to DA students, DA High School teacher Mr. Brookhart, and the greater DA community for your ongoing support.
