Welcome
The Ipswich Institute provides lending library facilities and an extensive programme of leisure learning courses, talks and trips to more than 2,000 members. We are also home to the
Ipswich Tourist Guides Association.
Existing members can renew their membership, update details or check their bookings by selecting the ‘Membership Renewal’ button below. From here, if you have set up an online account before, click ‘Log In’ (top right-hand corner), or, to create an account for the first time use the ‘Register by Surname’ option.
To purchase a new membership, or book onto a course, talk, day trip, workshop, or guided walk, please use the ‘Shop Online’ button.

Courses
Ipswich Institute offers a wide range of courses in a variety of subjects.
There are
daytime courses
for members only and
evening courses
open to all, with a discount for Institute members.
Events
We offer a wide range of events including talks and trips, many of which are open to the public.
Library
Our library collection consists of more than 8,000 items available for members to loan.
There is a strong emphasis on modern fiction, biography, literature and local history. New publications are added constantly and members’ requests are considered for purchase.
Room Hire
There are a number of rooms available for hire when not in use for the Institute’s own purposes.
In addition, our in-house team can provide catering tailored to any requirement.
Summer Day Course Programme
The summer term day course programme for members is under way. It started in mid-April and runs through to early July.
Printed programmes are available to pick up at the library or Admiral’s House, or you can download a PDF using the button below.
To join a course part way through the term, please speak to one of the library team.

Evening courses take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings and all are welcome to join, members and non-members alike.
