Winter Term is an intense, three-week, one-topic course of study held each January. Puttting into practice the concept of “depth over breadth,” the single-course structure of Winter Term allows students and faculty to work together even more closely than they do in regular classes.

After being drafted into the United States military at the onset of the Vietnam War, Rob Simmons ’61 embarked on a political career devoted to supporting servicemembers and veterans. Now, he finds peace in the simple labor of growing crops on his family farm in his hometown of Stonington, Connecticut.
While Brooks enjoys a pastoral setting overlooking Lake Cochichewick, it's anything but sleepy. The active campus remains bustling at all hours of the day and into the night.
