“The patron saint of our School, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, S.J., wrote that we ought not to be content with being hearers, but doers. Jesuit Dallas offers boys, grade 9-12, a unique, Catholic educational experience that goes beyond intellectual mastery and addresses the formation of the whole person. When Father Pedro Arrupe coined the term
Men for Others
, he was challenging all of our students and graduates to use their Jesuit educations to live a life as God's hands on Earth. This is our difference.”
Jesuit Dallas emphasizes academic excellence and intellectual challenge. It also seeks to inspire a joy in learning and a thirst for greater and deeper knowledge.
Faculty and staff are committed to forming young men who are well-rounded academically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. From the very beginning, we strive to meet the multi-faceted interests and talents of our student community.
To love is to encourage; it is compassionate, selfless, empathetic, and respectful. We are called to model Christ’s love in all of our thoughts and actions in forming young men to become true community servants as
Men for Others
.
Throughout the year, we engage with local, national, and international partners to create formative experiences that compel our students to carefully consider the intersections of faith and justice and engage in meaningful encounters with those experiencing marginalization.
Our students are part of a community which seeks to nurture the seeds of faith and commitment to growth in each individual. Regardless of religious background, all are welcomed to participate in the spiritual offerings of the School as they develop their own individual relationship with God.
Jesuit students come to value the ideal of a sound mind in a sound body and are introduced to means and the importance of maintaining good physical condition, not simply as a way of developing abilities, but also as a manner for enhancing growth as a well-rounded gentleman.
