ABOUT US
Advocates for East Turkistan
The East Turkistan National Movement (ETNM) is a national liberation movement dedicated to promoting the independence, sovereignty, and decolonization of East Turkistan. We affirm that restoring our people’s independence is essential for their survival, human rights, and freedoms, as East Turkistan continues to endure China’s ongoing genocide, colonization, crimes against humanity, and occupation. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ETNM unites activists, volunteers, and supporters worldwide through education, research, advocacy, and community engagement. Rooted in justice, human rights, and self-determination, we work through peaceful and lawful means to promote justice and accountability for genocide, crimes against humanity, and colonial occupation under international law. Our mission is to support East Turkistan’s people in preserving their culture, defending their rights, advancing decolonization, and promoting the restoration of their independence and sovereignty, ensuring the survival, dignity, and well-being of Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Turkic peoples.

ABOUT EAST TURKISTAN
Occupied East Turkistan: The 'Pivot of Asia'
Situated at the heart of Asia, East Turkistan is the historic homeland of the Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples, with a long and proud history of statehood, culture, and civilization. For over 6,000 years, it has been home to Turkic nations including Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, and Tatars, who built powerful kingdoms and empires that shaped the course of Central Asian history. Spanning more than 1.8 million square kilometers, East Turkistan borders ten nations, making it one of the most strategically vital regions in Asia. Since December 22, 1949, East Turkistan has been under the occupation of the People’s Republic of China. Under the guise of “security” and “development,” China has imposed genocide, colonization, and crimes against humanity aimed at erasing East Turkistan’s people, identity, and sovereignty. Despite decades of oppression, the people of East Turkistan continue to resist, driven by the unwavering goal of restoring their nation’s independence, freedom, and dignity.
