Student Life
As a regional school, it’s important for our students to have the opportunity to explore their community, interests, relationships and extracurricular learning. All of these are truly inclusive, full-participation experiences, from playing team sports to skiing at Mount Sunapee to hanging out with friends at our two-lane candlepin bowling alley.
We regularly offer after school programs and weekend sports that draw families to the sidelines, as well as unique events that are long-standing traditions at Cotting, like Spirit Week, the Senior Experience and a glamorous prom.
Curriculum & Instructional Programming
No matter what your vision for your future may be, we can support it—whether it’s increasing your life skills and independence, getting your high school diploma or taking a college course.
Because of the wide range of needs among our students, there is no “one size fits all” curriculum at Cotting. The content and materials we use are based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, mastery of the skills outlined in each student’s IEP and tailored to each of their individual needs and abilities.

Extended School Year
Integrated Therapies, Health Services & Collaborative Care
Students at Cotting School work hard to achieve their greatest level of independence. Our highly skilled, multidisciplinary team works equally as hard to support their health and academic growth, addressing a variety of specialized needs. Team members expertly adapt to each student’s progress, strengths and service delivery needs so they can provide the highest quality of appropriate services to best support success.
