Welcome to Holton-Arms
Learn Well
Live Well
Lead Well
Since 1901, we've been dedicated to the education not only of the
mind,
but of the
soul
and
spirit
.
Lower School
Supported by a sense of belonging, deep connection to their teachers, and fulfilling friendships with their classmates, Lower School students spend their days in a joyful learning environment.
Middle School
While establishing a firm grounding in core academic and specialized subjects, Middle Schoolers tackle the complexities of adolescence through an intentional and proactive approach to their health and well-being.
Upper School
Upper School students engage in challenging and meaningful classes while also having the support and space to pursue athletics, the arts and other personal interests beyond the classroom.
Here, you will find your place among sisters - girls of all ages who lead with kindness, applaud your successes, and pick you up when you stumble. Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging mission statement is the through-line that fosters a community of caring, critical thinkers.
This is our philosophical approach to educating the mind, the soul, and the spirit. Holton embraces excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics in concert with health and well-being, global competencies, plus diversity, equity, and inclusion.
At Holton, you'll have opportunities to encounter and engage with the world's cultures, community, people and ideas – via technology, research, travel, and more. Beginning in Middle School, students have the opportunity to travel abroad, and Upper Schoolers can apply for a Global Scholar distinction at graduation.
Holton is a school community under one roof. On a daily basis, younger students get an exciting glimpse into their future. Older students get the opportunity to be mentors and role models. And teachers across grade-levels and disciplines exchange new ideas to enrich the learning experience.
Let there be no doubt: you'll leave here with the fundamentals of science, math, history, English, a world language, and the arts. You'll be ready for college, but most of all, you'll be bursting with knowledge and eager to be a leader for a better world.

"My school is amazing! They created a safe and loving space. I can talk to anyone."
– Holton student
"I feel that my teachers genuinely care about my school progress, mental health, and how I am doing. The community is very welcoming and it was an easy transition from my previous school. I feel like I am getting to know my classmates and also connecting with people in other grades."
– New student, Class of 2026
"I really enjoy the flexibility Holton has with mental health days. I also find late starts, breaks, no-homework nights, and long weekends super helpful and beneficial to my well-being."
– Holton student
"Teachers are supportive and understanding. They are available to meet between classes and don’t make me feel bad about my questions."
– Holton student
"Holton provided me with the space to become my true self, embrace my weirdness, and develop a deep self confidence."
– Alumna, Class of 2011
"I loved my Holton experience. It shaped who I am. I graduated several years ago, and I still feel the positive effects of having attended Holton. I use the things I was taught at Holton in my own teaching practices; I model my teaching after the teaching I received. Holton helped me develop confidence in my own voice."
– Alumna, Class of 2015
"The friendships I made at Holton will last a lifetime, and that is priceless."
– Alumna, Class of 2016
