ABOUT THE WARING SCHOOL
Since its founding in 1972 by Philip and Josée Waring as an alternative approach to schooling, Waring has set itself apart by its commitment to creating an environment where learning can thrive.
We strive to maintain a culture that honors and supports the human desire to learn. Waring is situated on 32 acres in Beverly, Massachusetts, and offers a full program of intellectual, aesthetic, and physical activities – a program that balances academic rigor with breadth. Waring asks students to take risks and engage with subjects and activities outside their comfort zone, and enables students to find their voice and build skills in many ways.

Waring School’s educational program is based on the premise that, in order to learn, students must be challenged with worthy intellectual material, exciting creative projects, and ample opportunities to display their talents and expand their ideas through meaningful interactions with peers and adults.

Elective & Experiential Options
Waring offers numerous elective and experiential options so that students may pursue interests outside the academic classroom. In all of these offerings, students are encouraged to voice their ideas, see things in new ways, and show their best work. Students are encouraged to form their own clubs and leadership groups, to mentor younger students, to pursue their passions in and out of the classroom.

Waring’s campus is nestled in the woods of Beverly, between the Beverly Commons Trail system and Standley Street. We invite you to come for a visit and a tour any time of year – seeing Waring in action is the best way to start to explore the admissions process.

Waring School hosts several admissions events throughout the year. These are a great opportunity to meet with Waring’s Admissions Team, take a student-led tour, visit a class, and explore campus.

Join us on May 8th for RUN YOUR WAY: a Waring Fundraiser!
This event supports our Annual Fund, boosting faculty, financial aid, travel, and the arts. Each student can participate in their own unique style—competing, walking, reciting poetry, playing instruments, teaming up, or even dressing in costumes!
All Waring students will be participating and their families are strongly encouraged to attend, run, watch and cheer.
