Worth Together
A difference of Worth
At Worth we provide a first-rate education and the many achievements of our pupils demonstrate that fact. But we do not just provide education.
We offer education with heart and soul.
How is that? It comes from 1500 years of Benedictine tradition. A tradition that allows us to welcome all, simply because we insist on a community where all children – whatever their gifts – have nothing to hide from and everything to strive for. A community that has family at its heart.
In this respect, we believe that Worth offers a difference that sets us decisively apart. A difference that ignites the extraordinary in every pupil – to benefit each child and our world.

A Personal Exploration
Visitors to Worth often say that there is something intangible about its atmosphere. Its beautiful surroundings are part of that response, but so is the way we see Worth as a school. For us, results go deeper than examination grades.
Academia and results are important, but we also believe that it is through the dual focus on the highest quality education and personal exploration that our pupils are shaped. Worth pupils are encouraged to try new things, to bring their own cultures to life and share in the cultures of others, to look out into the world for inspiration, and inwardly for purpose.
We believe education should seek to form people, both as individuals and as members of a community; it should foster self-awareness, but not as an end in itself; openness to the life of the spirit is one of aspirations we have for our pupils.

Worth Together
Our Benedictine Tradition
St Benedict’s Rule, far from being a sixth-century relic, helps Worth to be true to its educational ideals within a modern and ambitious context. While we embrace what current thinking and technology have to offer schools, we are not drawn to fashionable trends; teaching and learning must still be about the truth, and learning how to distinguish it from the trivial.
An education rooted in values that look beyond the self develops in Worth pupils a sense of their responsibility in the world and in their community, and gives them the balance and humanity that any parent would be proud to see in the child when he or she leaves school.
