We are delighted to share our Artist of the Week, Year 9 Art student, Lola.
She shares: this hand coloured etching, called “Memories,” shows a moment before high school when my siblings and I were sitting on surfboards at the main beach in Byron Bay. The photo was taken in 2023 and reminds me of a time when everything felt more simple and we could just enjoy being together. I made this piece to show how special that memory is to me and how close we are as siblings.
Well done Lola!

National representation for Star!️
During the recent term break, four students from Star represented Victoria at the 2026 Australian Age Diving Championships in South Australia - a significant achievement at the highest level of junior competition.
Congratulations to: Sienna (Year 11), Isabelle (Year 11), Emily (Year 12) and Charlotte (Year 12 & College Captain).
A special mention to Isabelle, who achieved Gold in Synchronised Diving alongside her partner Taya Argus (Melbourne Girls College) - an outstanding result on the national stage.
To compete at this level reflects an exceptional commitment, discipline and talent. We are incredibly proud of these students and all they have achieved.

At the end of last term, our Year 11 and 12 VCE VM students headed to Holmesglen at Eildon for their annual adventure camp, working towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Across two days in the outdoors, students stepped outside their comfort zones, supported one another and embraced every challenge with determination and positivity. It was a wonderful reminder of the strength, care and resilience within this group.
A special congratulations to Year 11 student Kitty, recipient of this year’s Resilience Cup - a very deserving winner who gave everything a go, tried her hardest and encouraged those around her every step of the way.

Almost 250 years ago Nano Nagle founded the Presentation Sisters, the Sisters who went on to found Star of the Sea College 143 years ago. A new book by historian Katharine Massam, 'The Promise and the Blessing', explores the history and journey of the Presentation Sisters in Victoria since Vatican 11, completed in 1965.
At the recent book launch Sr Helen Carboon, Congregation Leader of the Sisters in Victoria, said the book "captured the essence and the journey of the Sisters".
Katherine is professor of history and chair of the Academic Board at the University of Divinity. The book is a fascinating tribute to the Sisters who have made such a wonderful commitment to education and social justice, and to the history of Star of the Sea College.
