We ask a few students where their passions lie
An academically selective independent co-ed school for children aged 3-18 in the heart of Cheshire
A warm welcome to The Grange School
WHAT MAKES THE GRANGE SCHOOL SPECIAL?
Academic success is rightly celebrated, but we ask our students ‘and what else?’ Here you don’t have to choose between being a physicist and a footballer, you can be both. A linguist and a mathematician - absolutely. Great at 3D Design and Grade 8 Piano - fantastic. We empower our students to find their passions inside and outside the classroom: as we like to say, ‘to find their song and sing it’.
WE OFFER AN UNRIVALLED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE.
We prepare our students to be world-ready young people by offering a holistic, all-round education with a focus on academic excellence, coupled with broad enrichment and co-curricular programmes. Superb pastoral care underpins this to ensure each and every student is known, celebrated and reaches their own unique potential.

I am
A Coder & a Hockey Player
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED CODING!
The thought that we can control devices and make them do extraordinary things just using words and electricity is so amazing to me. Here at the Grange School, we are in the process of setting up a coding club - the teachers are always open to suggestions for new clubs. I can’t wait to be part of this!
I LOVE HOCKEY.
It allows me to express myself outside the normal school setting, whilst keeping me fit and active. The Grange offers lots of hockey training opportunities, with sessions running almost daily. This has allowed me to improve my skills and play competitive matches against other schools.

TO SHAPE THE FUTURE,
I need to understand the world and those within it. Irrespective of the subject, I love learning, expanding my knowledge and applying my skills to make a difference to both the school community and wider society.
MUSIC IS FOR EVERYONE.
I am grateful to everyone I have collaborated with – because of them, I am constantly inspired to continue teaching and supporting others, creating music that is emotionally complex and challenges perceptions.

Discovery through opportunity
Let’s take a look at what makes us so special
Academic excellence
WE ARE RENOWNED FOR HIGH STANDARDS
of teaching and outstanding academic achievements. Our Senior School consistently ranks among the best in the country. We believe this is achieved thanks to our whole-person holistic approach to teaching and learning - students are more than just their grades.
We also rank highly for ‘value-added’ - the measurement of progress and improvement a student makes beyond initial predictions, meaning students do better here, at The Grange School, than they would at almost any other school.

66% of all GCSE entries were awarded grades 9-7 in 2025, compared to a national average for independent schools of 48%
A rich & varied school life
OUR CURRICULUM IS AN ALL-EMBRACING
experience and is made up of our Academic, Enrichment and Personal Development Programmes. We believe it allows our students to experience an education that doesn't take place just in the classroom.
We create opportunities for our students to develop both intellectually and personally. Our students rise to the challenge with relish, with as much input and encouragement as they need from staff and fellow students.

I love our science lab, we get to be real scientists doing exciting experiments, mixing things together, lighting things up, and discovering how the world works!
Year 5 Student
I've achieved more than I ever thought possible. I struggled a bit with maths, but my teachers found ways to explain things to help me understand in a way that works for me, I actually enjoy it now!"
Year 9 Student
The support I've received at school has been incredible, especially when applying for university. My teachers have guided me through every step—helping with personal statements, interview prep, and choosing the right course. Their encouragement has given me the confidence to aim high and believe in myself!
