Planetarium and geology museum to host April 25 open house
Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, April 25, for an evening of gazing and space shows. The event will include indoor and outdoor programs in the planetarium, observatory and geology museum.
Moffit ’26 is Vikings’ first All-American in women’s wrestling
Aine Moffit, a pre-med major from LeClaire, Iowa, chose Augustana because it offered her the opportunity to continue wrestling while staying close to home and pursuing strong academics. In the final bout of her collegiate career, Moffit made history for Augustana's five-year-old women’s wrestling program.
Splendore '27 and Gawu-Mensah '26 selected for Augustana's Hasselmo Award
Both Gaia Splendore and Leroy Gawu-Mensah were surprised and honored to learn they had won the Nils Hasselmo Award for Academic Pursuit. Inspired by the impact of his own Augustana experience, Dr. Nils Hasselmo '57 created the award to help future educators access professional opportunities.

How Asaminew ’26 built a bioinformatics major
A senior at Augustana and part-time employee at John Deere, Zekarias Asaminew is completing a bioinformatics and computer science double major tailored to his interests in health care, biology and coding, a path he developed through Augustana’s contract major, with support from faculty across multiple departments.
Upper Mississippi Center earns an Eddy Award
Augustana’s Upper Mississippi Center will be honored April 30 with an award from River Action, one of the community’s most preeminent environmental groups.
