Energy Affordability Initiative
Governor Scott launches the Energy Affordability Initiative after being unanimously elected the 2018 chair of the bipartisan Coalition of Northeastern Governors
(CONEG)
The Governor, as chair, will focus on identifying ways to make energy costs more affordable through regional coordination. At Governor Scott’s request, CONEG member states have agreed to convene the Energy Affordability Initiative Task Force with one delegate per participating state.
The task force will work together to aggregate and distill ideas generated from expert stakeholders across the region, including technology companies, consumers (i.e., commercial, industrial and residential), utilities, and state officials; and the members and staff of the New England States Committee on Electricity (NESCOE), ISO-New England, and NY-ISO.  Recommendations will be presented to the Coalition of Northeastern Governors at the
42nd Conference of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers
, which will be held at the Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, August 12-14, 2018.
