The Faculty
of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences (FVABS)
Established in 2006 as
the founding faculty of Sylhet Agricultural University, the Faculty of
Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences (FVABS) stands as a premier
institution for veterinary education in Bangladesh.
Our flagship
program is the five-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), which includes a
comprehensive one-year internship. This program was designed from its inception
to meet evolving local, regional and global demands in animal health and
production. FVABS is distinguished by its clear organizational structure and
dynamic curriculum, making it one of the most comprehensive veterinary
educational centers in the country. Our graduates are proficient professionals,
equipped to undertake diverse roles and collaboratively contribute to quality
teaching, research, and extension services for the advancement of animal health
and production. Our alumni and researchers are dedicated to safeguarding human
and animal health, promoting biosecurity and animal welfare, and ensuring the
safety and productivity of livestock, poultry, wildlife, and companion animals.
