The Value of Learning in the Field
Your academic experience at Canterbury goes far beyond the four walls of the classroom. Believing that “learning by doing” is one of the most effective ways for you to truly grasp and retain what is being taught, we consistently put that concept into practice in our curricula.
Our faculty members lead a number of inspiring field trip experiences to heighten your learning. From visiting a Canterbury graduate’s place of business to taking and testing water samples from the Aspetuck River to traveling to New York City for a behind-the-scenes facilities tour, you will have the opportunity to do some fascinating—and invaluable—work in the field.
Seeing all the little things that go into each event at Madison Square Garden made my jaw drop to the floor. And the NHL headquarters visit was amazing too. We heard from many different perspectives, and I left with a much better understanding of what it is like to work in a professional sports league. It was the single best school trip I have ever been on!
