Dr. Rajesh Chakrabarti, a renowned academician in Finance, Management, and Public Policy, will be joining as the Dean School of Management in the first week of October 2024.

Upcoming Dean, School of Management
Dr. Rajesh Chakrabarti is a renowned academic and thought leader in the fields of Finance, Management, and Public Policy. His educational journey began at Presidency College, Calcutta, where he earned his B.Sc. in Economics (1991). He then pursued his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1993) before completing his Ph.D. in Management (Finance) from the University of California, Los Angeles (1999). Dr. Chakrabarti's academic career spans over two decades, during which he has held teaching positions at esteemed institutions worldwide. He has been a faculty member at the University of Alberta, Canada; Georgia Institute of Technology, USA; and the Indian School of Business (ISB). His expertise in Finance has been recognized globally, with visiting positions at institutions such as IIM Calcutta, Indian Statistical Institute Delhi, IIM Udaipur, ICN Nancy (France), and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. Chakrabarti has held significant leadership positions in academia. He is currently serving as the Director of the Dera Bassi Campus, Dean of the LM Thapar School of Management, and Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. His prior leadership roles include Director at MDI Gurgaon and Dean at the Jindal Global Business School, Jindal Global University. Dr. Chakrabarti's contributions to academia extend beyond the classroom. As the founding Executive Director of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB's Mohali campus, he played a pivotal role in designing and launching one of India's leading public policy programs. He has authored or edited ten books on subjects ranging from Finance and Public Policy to Artificial Intelligence. His work has been published in leading international scholarly journals, cementing his position as a thought leader in his field. Beyond academia, Dr. Chakrabarti has made significant contributions to the corporate and policy sectors. He served as the Executive Vice President for Research and Policy at the Wadhwani Foundation and cofounded Sunay Policy Advisory, a public policy consulting firm. His insights have been shared with a wider audience through his column in the Financial Express.

Global Academic Internship Program (GAIP)
Aaditya Ranganathan (MBA Batch 2021-23) got selected for the Global Academic Internship Program (GAIP) at National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. The programme was held from 4th June to 2nd July 2022. GAIP, NUS is a 4 week fully residential program based on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and IoT (Internet of Things) which enables student to explore the avenues for skill upliftment, networking with global students and faculty members of NUS.
Corporate Immersion Programme
BBA students, as part of Corporate Immersion Programme, went to Thailand for 10 days and to do project work from 1st July to 10th July 2022 at various properties and locations of MQDC, Thailand. Students were given a project to identify problems in the surrounding areas of Thailand (Bangkok). For the identified problems, students interacted with the Local stakeholders at Bangkok and submitted a report with proposed solutions for the identified problems to the Director and Project Head -MQDC. They were given Project Completion Certificate at the end of the immersion program and received excellent feedback from the management team.
Shark Tank India
Kartikay Tewari, a BBA student (Batch 2021-23) got selected for Shark Tank India Semi Finals, for his startup 'The Shop Basket' which he started during lockdown. Shop basket is an e-commerce website dedicated to small manufacturers and product owners. Lockdown impacted them in the worst way, and that's when Kartikay came up with his unique idea of becoming their North Star. He found the opportunity in disguise and has received orders worth more than 1.5 crores till now. He has proved that "Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from an indomitable will."

Upcoming Dean, School of Management
Dr. Rajesh Chakrabarti is a renowned academic and thought leader in the fields of Finance, Management, and Public Policy. His educational journey began at Presidency College, Calcutta, where he earned his B.Sc. in Economics (1991). He then pursued his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1993) before completing his Ph.D. in Management (Finance) from the University of California, Los Angeles (1999). Dr. Chakrabarti's academic career spans over two decades, during which he has held teaching positions at esteemed institutions worldwide. He has been a faculty member at the University of Alberta, Canada; Georgia Institute of Technology, USA; and the Indian School of Business (ISB). His expertise in Finance has been recognized globally, with visiting positions at institutions such as IIM Calcutta, Indian Statistical Institute Delhi, IIM Udaipur, ICN Nancy (France), and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. Chakrabarti has held significant leadership positions in academia. He is currently serving as the Director of the Dera Bassi Campus, Dean of the LM Thapar School of Management, and Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. His prior leadership roles include Director at MDI Gurgaon and Dean at the Jindal Global Business School, Jindal Global University. Dr. Chakrabarti's contributions to academia extend beyond the classroom. As the founding Executive Director of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB's Mohali campus, he played a pivotal role in designing and launching one of India's leading public policy programs. He has authored or edited ten books on subjects ranging from Finance and Public Policy to Artificial Intelligence. His work has been published in leading international scholarly journals, cementing his position as a thought leader in his field. Beyond academia, Dr. Chakrabarti has made significant contributions to the corporate and policy sectors. He served as the Executive Vice President for Research and Policy at the Wadhwani Foundation and cofounded Sunay Policy Advisory, a public policy consulting firm. His insights have been shared with a wider audience through his column in the Financial Express.

Global Academic Internship Program (GAIP)
Aaditya Ranganathan (MBA Batch 2021-23) got selected for the Global Academic Internship Program (GAIP) at National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. The programme was held from 4th June to 2nd July 2022. GAIP, NUS is a 4 week fully residential program based on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and IoT (Internet of Things) which enables student to explore the avenues for skill upliftment, networking with global students and faculty members of NUS.
Corporate Immersion Programme
BBA students, as part of Corporate Immersion Programme, went to Thailand for 10 days and to do project work from 1st July to 10th July 2022 at various properties and locations of MQDC, Thailand. Students were given a project to identify problems in the surrounding areas of Thailand (Bangkok). For the identified problems, students interacted with the Local stakeholders at Bangkok and submitted a report with proposed solutions for the identified problems to the Director and Project Head -MQDC. They were given Project Completion Certificate at the end of the immersion program and received excellent feedback from the management team.
Shark Tank India
Kartikay Tewari, a BBA student (Batch 2021-23) got selected for Shark Tank India Semi Finals, for his startup 'The Shop Basket' which he started during lockdown. Shop basket is an e-commerce website dedicated to small manufacturers and product owners. Lockdown impacted them in the worst way, and that's when Kartikay came up with his unique idea of becoming their North Star. He found the opportunity in disguise and has received orders worth more than 1.5 crores till now. He has proved that "Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from an indomitable will."
