About the Board
The 17-member board includes the president of the university as well as 16 volunteers who are appointed by the governor. UO names John Karl Scholz as 19th president

The Board of Trustees unanimously selected John Karl Scholz following a search conducted by a committee comprised of trustees, students, faculty, staff, and academic and administrative leaders, as well as representatives from higher education and the external community.
The UO welcomes its second-largest class in university history
September 26, 2023
The 2023-24 academic year brings with it the second-largest class to hit the UO campuses. The average high school GPA is 3.75, also the second-highest in university history.
