Volunteer Guides and Greeters
Vizcaya’s Volunteer Greeters and Guides serve as ambassadors, promoting awareness of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens as an enduring, inclusive and innovative place that inspires people to embrace the cultural vitality and environmental sustainability of the world around us.
Greeters
Interested and potential Guides are invited to serve as Greeters. Greeters welcome visitors to Vizcaya upon arrival to the house, answer basic questions, explain how they can spend their time during their visit, orient visitors as they begin an audio tour experience, and suggest ways to help preserve Vizcaya’s collections while visiting the house.
The Greeter program offers the opportunity for individuals to pursue additional training to transition to Active Vizcaya Volunteer Guides.
Guides
All Guides support and advance Vizcaya Museum and Gardens’ mission, core values, and educational philosophy by conducting tours and providing engagement with the public. Vizcaya Volunteer Guides act as interpreters of the museum’s house, gardens and collections by giving visitors a deeper understanding and appreciation of the museum through dialogue and inquiry.
