Strategic Plan 2030 is CapMetro’s organizational blueprint for the next five years. It identifies the results we will achieve during that time and the actions we will complete to achieve them.
CapMetro’s near-term focus will be on actions to enhance operational reliability and security
CapMetro will double down on the core of what makes transit service work well—reliability, safety, and security—to make CapMetro a top option for transportation in the region.
We will maintain and build trust with the community by delivering great service and showing our customers they can count on us to consistently get them where they need to go, safely and on time.
By reliably getting people to opportunities, we’ll continue to be a critical economic driver for the region.
Building on the accomplishments of the first years, in later years CapMetro will also focus on preparing for the future.
Central Texas is evolving, and so is CapMetro. The pandemic and regional growth have changed where, when, and how people move around our region.
From a strong foundation of reliable and safe service, we will be a key part of meeting the region’s long-term transportation needs by continuing to adapt, streamlining regular processes to use each dollar more effectively, and preparing to deliver light rail service.
Following these efforts, we will then focus on updating our funding and governance structure so we can continue to serve the entire region.
We have a commitment to regional excellence.
Our five-year strategy lays the groundwork for world-class public transportation that supports regional prosperity.
Through collaboration with our partners, CapMetro can play a vital role in Central Texas’ bright future.

We have adopted these Critical Results to guide the choices we make, the resources we allocate and how we characterize success for the next five years. Each result has a set of measures we will use to assess our progress and impact.
