Graduate Resident Tuition & Fees: $10,568 per year (Fall 2025 - Spring 2026)
For a graduate student with a Colorado residency taking 6 credit hours each term (12 credit hours total over two semesters). Please note this estimate is based on the Engineering, Design & Computing tuition rates.

The requirements for establishing residency for tuition purposes are defined by Colorado law and apply to all state-funded institutions in Colorado. Institutions are not free to make exceptions to the rules. The
Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE)
also has information regarding the residency classification rules.

Western Undergraduate Exchange
Students from many of Colorado’s neighboring Western states can attend CU Denver at a discounted tuition rate through the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. This cost is lower than non-resident tuition, but higher than resident tuition. If you are from a participating WUE state (based on your permanent address), you will automatically receive this tuition rate.
