Academic Welfare
Academic achievement and student success are major components of a St Luke’s Anglican School education. As the region's highest performing school, our curriculum is designed to provide a continuum of educational experiences and learning opportunities for students from Early Learning to Year 12, with comprehensive support structures and specialist programs to foster each student's academic and personal development.
Academic Support and Tutoring
St Luke's Anglican School emphasises academic rigour to facilitate student learning and intellectual growth, providing a seamless transition across all education levels. The School tailors curriculum support to students' developmental and intellectual needs, offering various programs to enhance academic skills.
The Educational Support Program aids Primary School students in literacy and numeracy, while Differentiated Learning Programs ensure equitable access to the curriculum, catering to both those needing support and those in need of enrichment.
The Tutoring Program, available at no cost to families, offers additional assistance to students in Years 4 to 12 through optional lunchtime and after-school sessions provided by teachers. Personalised Performance Programs are available for elite Middle and Senior School students, allowing them to balance academic responsibilities with co-curricular commitments.
Academic Advisor
The Academic Advisor Program is a key component of the academic development of our Senior students This program matches every student in Years 11 and 12 with a mentor teacher who works closely with those students to help them clarify and achieve their academic goals.
The clear intent of the Academic Advisor Program is academic wellbeing, goal setting and academic performance consistent with each student’s future pathway. Sessions are always one-on-one and cover a range of issues, including goal setting, effective study planning, career aspirations, and assessment review, using teacher feedback to develop strategies for success.
Vocational Education
Vocational Education and Training (VET) prepares students for jobs that are based in manual or practical activities, and are related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation, such as hospitality, automotive, health services, sport, fitness, and recreation. St Luke's has a range of VET-dedicated programs designed to progress students through this process in their Senior years.
