We are one of the oldest State Food Laboratories in the country established in the pre independence period around 1912. SPHL Assam caters to the needs of not only Assam but almost entire NE India & the head of the Laboratory, the Food Analyst to the Govt. of Assam is also the Food Analyst to the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram & Sikkim.

State Public Health Laboratory, Assam is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and calibration Laboratories (NABL) as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The lab is now accredited by FSSAI-NABL Integrated accreditation mode. NABL Certificate No. TC-10845. Validity of Re-accreditation: 20-07-2024 to 19-07-2026.
