The Margaret Lawrence University (MLU) community came together in a beautiful display of faith and fellowship for the
2025 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
. Held at the University Auditorium, the event was a centerpiece of the holiday season, bringing together students, staff, and friends of the University.
A Celebration of Tradition
The service followed the traditional format of nine short Bible readings, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choir anthems. Each lesson, read by members of the university community, traced the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus.
Musical Highlights
The University Choir delivered breathtaking performances of 'O Holy Night' and 'Silent Night', while the congregation joined in for timeless classics like 'O Come, All Ye Faithful'.
Message of Peace
In a brief exhortation, the University Chaplain reminded attendees of the importance of peace, love, and unity as they headed into the new year.
The evening concluded with a festive reception, where guests enjoyed refreshments and shared in the joy of the season. It was truly a night to remember, reinforcing the university's commitment to spiritual growth and community building.
