PRESIDENT LAKE LAMBERT
Now beginning his tenth year has Hanover College’s 16th president, Dr. Lake Lambert III was inaugurated on July 1, 2015.
Dr. Lambert’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of Hanover College. During his tenure, the College has reestablished the Bachelor of Science degree, launched new academic majors in engineering and nursing, redesigned the core liberal arts curriculum, developed career pathways and institutional partnerships serving students in nursing and accounting, and started an intercollegiate swimming team. The College has developed two doctoral programs – in physical therapy and occupational therapy – and is laying the groundwork for a third doctoral program in veterinarian medicine.

With the College’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Lambert and his leadership team developed and launched a new strategic plan:
Hanover Stands Above – Preparations for a Third Century
. The plan is guiding the College through its bicentennial in 2027 and is laying the foundation for a strong future. Hanover Stands Above will call for continued programmatic innovation, student success enhancements, as well as numerous facility and technology improvements.
Prior to becoming president of Hanover College, Dr. Lambert served as the Dean of Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts in Macon, Georgia (2010-2015), and was a Professor of Religion and Board of Regents Chair in Ethics at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa (1996-2010).
He earned his Bachelor of Arts (History and Economics) and Master of Theological Studies degrees from Emory University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Lambert is a thoughtful and respected theologian with research interests in professional ethics, the intersection of Christianity and American culture, as well as church-related higher education. His book Spirituality Inc.: Religion in the American Workplace was published by New York University Press in 2009.
Dr. Lambert is married to Kelly Duddles-Lambert. They met at church camp as high school students and have been married for more than 30 years. Kelly is an accountant and graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. They have two adult children: Bailey and Lake IV. They also have one hound-mix named Fred.
