As students and their parent or guardian consider this opportunity, it’s important to recognize that while the program is affordable, local, and convenient, college-level courses come with higher expectations. These classes are academically rigorous and require strong time management skills to balance high school responsibilities with college coursework, deadlines, and increased accountability.
As students talk with their parent or guardian, teachers, and guidance counselor, it’s essential to consider how their college courses align with their long-term goals. These discussions should include the student’s intended career path, college plans, and major to ensure each course supports their overall academic and professional journey.
Before enrolling, students and their families should thoroughly review all information and opportunities offered by Diné College especially the expectations, guidelines, and academic policies related to Dual Credit. A clear understanding of the responsibilities and requirements is essential for a successful experience.
Students must work closely with their high school counselor or designated representative to ensure they follow all Dual Credit policies and procedures set by their school. Coordination is essential for proper course selection, eligibility, and successful participation in the program.

Grades
All dual credit students
are responsible for following the Diné College Academic Policies. Instructors will use Diné College guidelines to determine midterm and final grades. This includes a student’s Academic Standing, Withdrawal from a course and each student has the right to contest his/her grades through the General Grade Appeal, which can be obtained from Office of the Registrar or see an Academic Advisor.
Academics Policies
Class Attendance
– Regular and prompt attendance to all classes and laboratories is expected. Excessive absence may be reported which may affect a student’s academic grade(s).
Academic Integrity
– Academic integrity is the fundamental value and principle that underwrites the very mission of Diné College. Enrolled students are solely responsible for the integrity of their academic work and upholding professional standards of research, writing, assessment and ethics in their areas of study. Academic dishonesty, which includes cheating, misrepresentation or plagiarism and other forms of unethical behavior, is prohibited. If a student has violated the academic integrity policy, formal proceeding for disciplinary action will be conducted under the “Student Code of Conduct.”
Withdrawing from College Courses
– Students must coordinate with their Dual Credit Representative to officially withdraw from any college course. Failure to complete the proper withdrawal process will result in an “F” grade for each course not officially dropped.
Transcripts
– Students may request an official transcript through the Records and Admissions Office at the main campus in Tsaile. The Transcript Request Form is available at all college sites and on the Diné College website. Each Official Transcript costs $5.00, and same-day service is available in person at the Tsaile campus for $15.00 per transcript. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed at any time through Warrior Web. Please note: Diné College cannot provide transcript services—including official or unofficial transcripts—to any current or former student with an outstanding balance. Students with holds on their account should work directly with their Dual Credit Representative to obtain an official Transcript. Official transcripts cannot be sent via email or fax..
Course Change or Cancellation
– Diné College reserves the right to cancel any scheduled course or to change the day, time, location, and/or faculty of any course without notice. Students will not be penalized for cancelled courses. Registration, technology and other applicable activity fees are non-refundable.
