INTERVIEWING NOW FOR PREP 2027
At St Therese’s School we aim to model our behaviours on the example of Jesus as shown through the Gospel.  Jesus showed us how to live through the interactions he had with the people of his time.  His own actions taught about:
forgiveness
making choices and being responsible for them
making wrong situations right
helping those in need
welcoming others
living peacefully
being socially responsible
respecting self and others / restoring dignity in self and others
walking in another’s shoes / showing empathy
“I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.”  John 10:10
St Therese’s School, being true to its mission as an authentic Catholic School, aims to move beyond the management of student behaviour and extend to the transformation of student actions and attitudes to enable them to reach their full potential.
The process of transformation involves empowering students to gain the skills and attitudes needed to be both personally and socially responsible for their own behaviour and make appropriate behavioural choices.  To assist students to reach these goals, teachers will play an active role in this process through explicit teaching and updating of their skills through professional development and also by being ‘living’ models, who nurture and mentor our students in our faith, values and social emotional competencies.
Student Wellbeing is fostered and supported through the following areas:
St Therese’s Self-Management Plan and Policy
Social Emotional Learning
Fostering of positive teacher, parent and student relationships and regular communication
The teaching of age-appropriate and specific social skills
Inclusion of the Diverse Learners Team consisting of the School Counsellor, Diversity Teachers, Indigenous Liaison Officer, Leader of Engagement, Leader of Learning and Teaching, Leader of Diverse Learning and Assistant Principals.

Our school St Therese’s sits on sacred land which holds connection to our ancestors and their histories. We respect, honour and embrace all cultures across this land that we work, pray, learn and grow on.
St Therese’s respects our Traditional Owners of this land, the Gimuy Walubarra Yidinji and Yirrganydji people, who hold the knowledge of these lands and waterways. We pay respects to their elders and all elders past, present and emerging. We journey together inspired by Christ embracing faith, life and learning.
(Authored by our 2023 Year 6 First Nation Students and our Indigenous Liaison Officer Leanne Wanders.)
