Wingate University’s decision to begin a School of Pharmacy is an example of how the university has responded to the needs of the community throughout our history. When the School of Pharmacy began offering a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2003, it was the first step the university took into graduate healthcare education. The charter class graduated in 2007, the same year the School of Pharmacy received accreditation.
In 2010, the Levine College of Health Sciences building was constructed on the Wingate campus to house the pharmacy program as well as the physician assistant studies program.

Dean's Welcome
Greetings! I am happy to welcome you to the Wingate University School of Pharmacy, a vibrant, learner-centered institution offering a four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program at our Wingate campus. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, the Wingate School of Pharmacy has been taking giant strides in pharmacy education since it was founded in 2003.
Supported by a low student-to-faculty ratio, our faculty and staff remain firmly focused on empowering students to become leaders who will make a difference in the wellbeing of their communities. Our 2025 PharmD graduates are living proof of our success, boasting an 84% residency match rate—well above the national average.
As Dean, I invite you to explore our website, designed as a useful resource for future students and any others wanting to learn about the dynamic educational experience and opportunities we provide. If you need more information, or if you’d like to speak to a staff member, our office “door” is always open—online and in-person—so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
