The RMEP personnel strive to preserve and protect WIU's resources against losses arising out of any occurrence, thereby enabling the University to carry out its goals and purpose of providing a profound and positive impact on the changing world through instruction, research, and public service as the University educates and prepares a diverse student population to thrive in and contribute to a global society. Risk Management Facilitates the administrative handling of property, casualty, auto, and other types of insurance. Holds an active membership in the Illinois Public Higher Education Consortium. Emergency Preparedness Facilitates a variety of all hazard programs and projects in emergency planning, mitigation, response, and recovery. Keeps current Campus Emergency Operation Plans up-to-date and in accordance to current state and federal regulations.
