Young Children Ballet/Music Division, Ages 3-7
This division introduces students, Ages 3-6, to the world of classical ballet and music. Young dancers learn their first steps and develop an appreciation for movement and rhythm. Kirov Academy’s highly qualified professionals educate our young students with dedication, passion and enthusiasm.
Movement & Rhythm (Ages 3)
Saturdays, 9:00 - 9:45 am
Pre-Ballet (Ages 4-5)
Saturdays, 10:00 - 10:45 am
Pre-Ballet (Ages 6-7)

Ballet Junior Division, Ages 8-9
This division prepares aspiring dancers for a serious study in the Vaganova Method of Russian Ballet. Students work hard to establish placement, improve flexibility and develop physical abilities necessary for pre-professional ballet study. Through age appropriate dance etudes and choreography students also learn artistic expression and joy of ballet as an art form

Ballet Senior Division, Ages 10-14
This division offers rigorous study for dancers who are serious about their pre-professional training. Students applying to this division need to contact Kirov Academy via email at

to schedule a placement class. All students in this division are expected to attend the full program consisting of the following classes. Partial enrollment is not permitted.

IRINA WUNDER
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM MANAGER
Irina Wunder received her classical training in Turkmenistan, then a republic of the former Soviet Union. She performed with the Republic’s Theater of Opera and Ballet and in the former Soviet republics. She was also a guest artist with the Ballet Nacional del Peru. While in Lima, Peru, Ms. Wunder also taught dance and served as a liaison between the US diplomatic and local dance communities. Ms. Wunder holds a Master’s degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London, UK), specializing in methodology and optimal practices of performing artists. Ms. Wunder is on the faculty of the Department of Performing Arts at American University & George Washington University in Washington DC teaching Ballet and Dance as an Art Form.
