Computer Science Department: DSB Campus, Nainital
The Department of Computer Science, Kumaun University, D.S.B Campus, Nainital is one of the earliest Computer Science Departments in Uttarakhand State. In the year 1988 computer science was introduced as a paper at the undergraduate level at Kumaun University. In the year 1990, computer science was given the status of an independent department. M.Sc in computer science was started in the year 2010& the Ph.D. program in computer science was started in the year 2013.
The technical environment on the lap of nature with the blessing of the Himalayas attracts high-quality students from all over India and has an impressive educational, technical and professional record.

The Department of Computer Science, Kumaun University, D.S.B Campus, Nainital is one of the earliest Computer Science Departments in Uttarakhand State. In the year 1988 computer science was introduced as a paper at the undergraduate level at Kumaun University. In the year 1990, computer science was given the status of an independent department. M.Sc in computer science was started in the year 2010& the Ph.D. program in computer science was started in the year 2013.
The technical environment on the lap of nature with the blessing of the Himalayas attracts high-quality students from all over India and has an impressive educational, technical and professional record.
Currently, the department has 01 regular and 04 contractual faculty members and more than 250 students working towards their regular graduation, professional graduation, Master’s as well as doctoral degree programs.
One of the strengths of the department is its highly qualified and learned faculties and the other is the strongly equipped culture of classrooms as well as laboratories combination. The joint venture of them makes an environment for students to develop themselves as successful people with the virtue of life.
The regular revision of the curriculum helps the department to upgrade the students to meet their requirements related to recent trends and technologies growing in the professional era. The Seminars, Symposiums, and Workshops organized by the department give a chance to introduce the students to the icons of related fields and to cope up with the industrial demand.
