Admissions Process
Application
We accept applications from children looking to enter from Year 7 as either day or boarding pupils. Our main points of entry are Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12 (Sixth Form). However, we know life does not always allow for these timelines and are happy to offer admission into other year groups where availability and suitability allows.
We encourage you to register as early as possible so we are able to keep in touch with you regarding key dates and deadlines.
There are 3 stages in the application process:
Registration
Interview and Assessment
Outcome
Registration
To register your child, please complete the appropriate online registration form below (please note you will also be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £120).
UK Registration
If your child holds a British or Irish passport, please complete the UK Registration Form.
International Registration
For
ALL
non British and Irish passport holders (including American), please complete the International Registration Form.
Assessment
Once you have registered your child, they will be invited to attend a CAT4 assessment, along with an interview with a member of our Senior Leadership Team.
The CAT4 is an assessment that is designed to help teachers understand how children learn and what their academic potential might be. It assesses how students think in areas that are known to make a difference to learning. The CAT4 is designed to give schools a broader, more rounded view of each child, their potential and how they learn. The assessment is online and no preparation or revision is required.
For overseas families, or those that are unable to attend the assessment in person, remote testing is available.
There are times when additional information may be required, including further assessments or a taster day. This will be considered and discussed with families on an individual basis.
For children where English is not their first language, we require an additional language assessment to be completed online.
Outcome
Once the assessment and interview have taken place, we will advise either by phone or email whether the school is able to offer a place, and provide details of next steps. Outcomes are provided to families within two weeks of an assessment.
