Student Life:
Community Service with Warriors in Action
At Life Center Academy, we are committed to developing students into the best version of themselves—spiritually, academically, and personally. Central to this mission is cultivating a heart of service. We believe that serving others is not only a biblical calling, as reflected in 1 John 3:17, but also a vital part of personal growth and Christian character:
"If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?"
Community service is a core element of the educational experience at LCA. Through acts of service, students learn empathy, leadership, and the value of giving back. Our goal is to instill a lifelong habit of compassion and outreach, encouraging students to make a meaningful impact in the world around them.
Each high school student is required to complete a minimum of 130 cumulative hours of community service before graduation. These hours are not only a graduation requirement—they also factor into the student’s overall grade in their Study of Religion course.
Community service projects should reflect the goal of serving the disadvantaged, whether economically, physically, spiritually, or developmentally. Students may complete their service through places of worship, community or civic organizations, or other nonprofit agencies. All service, including that completed within the school, must be documented using the official “Community Service Report” form, which can be downloaded from the school website. It is the student’s responsibility to submit completed forms by each teacher’s designated deadline to ensure credit toward their required hours.
Our commitment to service begins long before high school. Students in Middle School and Elementary also reflect our core values by participating in one class-wide service project each school year. These age-appropriate initiatives help foster a culture of compassion and responsibility from an early age.
