We're removing
110 dangerous and congested level crossings
across Melbourne by 2030, the largest project of its kind in Victoria's history.
We're also overseeing a number of network improvement projects including
line upgrades
as well as
new and upgraded train stations
.
Removing level crossings
improves safety
and
reduces congestion
, helping motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.
Our work helps create thousands of jobs during construction and helps get people home safer and faster.
Planned timeline
A total of 110 level crossings will be removed by 2030.
