Living On Campus
The housing options at the University of St. Francis in Joliet are varied and unique, with three residence halls and several different types of rooms available. The residential experience is something that enhances college life for our students, who come from local to international hometowns, and everything in between!

Residence Halls
There are several types of rooms available in Marian Hall, the Motherhouse and Tower Hall. In each one, there are full-time professional staff members on call to offer support when students need it. In addition, each student has a resident assistant, multicultural assistant, and peer minister who lives near them to be supportive role models.
Marian Hall
Marian Hall provides a great experience for all students in a traditional residence hall community environment.

Marian Hall houses up to 242 students, most of whom are freshmen and sophomores. The majority of rooms in Marian are double occupancy, with there being a select number of singles and triples available. Renovated in the summer of 2005, Marian offers a number of amenities for student use including:
Configurable dorm room furniture (included)
Wireless and Internet connections
Kitchen with a stove, microwave and sink
Peer ministers on every floor
The Abbey! Always movies or comedians there for entertainment
A Game Room with a wide selection of free games
Resident Assistants on every floor
All floors are equipped with:
Social lounges with flat screen TVs, microwaves and plush seating
Computer lab/study lounge with computers and printers
Laundry room– free to wash and dry!
Community bathrooms on each wing
Wi-fi in the common areas
The room dimensions in Marian vary slightly, depending upon the location of the room and the room’s intended occupancy but the average double is 180 square feet. Every room comes furnished with an extra-long twin bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, and wardrobe for each resident. Each room also has windows that are 2’8’’ across by 4’2’’ high. Standard tension rod and curtains will fit the 31″ window frames.  Residents are also able to request their beds be lofted to accommodate futons.
The Motherhouse
The Motherhouse provides a great experience for upperclassmen students who enjoy comfortable suite style living and being close to several happening places on campus.

Motherhouse is the most recently renovated space on campus. Renovations wrapped up in 2010. Motherhouse houses approximately 60 students, most of who are of junior and senior status. Rooms in Motherhouse include singles, doubles, and a select number of suites and apartments. Motherhouse is our only community which has central air conditioning. The amenities found in Motherhouse include:
Apartments and suites with private bathrooms
Laundry rooms– free to wash and dry!
Wireless and wired Internet connections
A kitchen with a stove, microwave and refrigerator
Community bathrooms for each wing. Suites have bathrooms within the common space
Wi-fi common areas
Computer Labs on every wing
The Fireside Lounge which has flat screen TVs as well as an electric fireplace
The Three Oaks Bistro
A Game Room with a pool table, foosball table and ping pong
Tower Hall
Tower Hall provides a great experience for upperclassmen students who are looking for a strong community with a sense of privacy in their bedroom at a low cost.

Tower Hall houses up to 155 students, most of who are of junior and senior status. The majority of rooms in Tower are single occupancy, including a select number of suites. The amenities found in Tower include:
Single, double and triple rooms
A computer lab
Wireless and wired Internet connections
A social lounge with a big screen TV, VCR and plush seating
Laundry room– free to wash and dry!
A kitchen with a stove, microwave, sink, refrigerator and vending machines
Community bathrooms on every floor
Easy access to classes, administrative offices, the cafeteria and Snack Shop
Mailboxes near the Tower Security Desk
Rooms have a sink
Wi-fi access in common areas
The room and window dimensions in Tower vary with each room. Every room comes furnished with an extra-long twin bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, and wardrobe for each resident. Residents are encouraged to provide their own window treatments to be installed by the USF Maintenance Department.
