About our people
We put people at the centre of all we do – our staff and those who rely on our services.
You’ll recognise some of our experts from their regular media appearances about COVID-19, insect-borne diseases and forensic identification of human remains. Others are quieter achievers, but no less critical to the operation of our services.
Our Strategic Leadership Team and Board comprises professionals with backgrounds in business, governance, research and health, who were drawn to our positive culture and see the value of a strong, statewide public pathology and forensic service.
Who are we?
Our 5000-plus people provide a range of expert public pathology and forensic services across NSW, from Sydney to Broken Hill, and Albury to the Tweed.
They include clinical pathologists, forensic pathologists, scientists, forensic scientists, technical assistants and officers, collectors, couriers, informaticians, data analysts, ICT DevOps, administrative and support staff, and more.
They work in supportive teams and in public hospital and community collection centres, laboratories, offices and dedicated forensic medicine facilities.
Our governance
We're committed to delivering efficient, effective and transparent services for the people of NSW.
We have structures, systems, processes and behaviours in place to achieve this in an open, accountable and ethical way.
This includes our Strategic Leadership Team, Board, augmented steering committees, sub-committees and communities of practice.
Connect with us
NSW Health Pathology acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land across NSW whose cultures and customs have nurtured and continue to nurture this land. We would like to pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the state.
