Business First FXUA has taken a very different approach to higher education by focusing on a “business first” pledge. Our goal is to ensure that you are taught by educated practitioners, not academic theorists, and provided with near limitless access to national and international business leaders throughout your entire academic journey. Long before you graduate, you will have shaped several new prosperous roads that lead to lifetime career success – guided and mentored step-by-step by the very best the business community has to offer. It is with a heavy heart to announce the closure of Fairfax University of America (FXUA), formerly known as Virginia International University, after 26 years of service and dedication to education. In 2022, when ACICS (The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools), FXUA’s accrediting agency, lost its recognition by the U.S. Department of Education, FXUA immediately sought to obtain new accreditation. It is important to note that FXUA was in good standing and the loss of recognition was unrelated to the University or its operations. Despite this, the University faced significant challenges due to a complex regulatory environment and the limited timeframe available to secure new accreditation. Unfortunately, FXUA was unable to establish a clear path forward, leading to the difficult decision to cease operations effective December 31, 2024. FXUA leadership extends its deepest gratitude to all our current and former students for their unwavering support and trust throughout the years. Your success and accomplishments have been, and will continue to be, our greatest legacy. FXUA/VIU Transcripts Beginning 1/1/2025, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will maintain student records for FXUA/VIU. To request your FXUA/VIU transcript from SCHEV, please complete and mail in the Request for Transcript Search form (found on the SCHEV website at ) along with a $10.00 money order or cashier’s check made payable to “Treasurer of Virginia” per requested copy.
