How we learn about infectious disease
We investigate reports of infectious disease. If you are diagnosed with a
reportable disease
, one of our staff may contact you to discuss your illness, ask you about how you got sick, and help prevent your friends and family from also getting sick. Learn more about the

Examples of Our Work
We partner with local schools, businesses and healthcare providers to share best practices and resources to our community. For example, we host a meeting for area Infection Prevention staff to engage and network with speakers around preventing the spread of multidrug resistant organisms. Quality improvement projects are presented and discussed in an attempt to lower infection rates at local hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Brochures and posters are available in our office on topics ranging from
tickborne illnesses
, hand washing, and
Zika virus.
