Why not pay a visit to a museum based around the working life of the skilled country carpenter? Fordyce Joiners Workshop offers a glimpse into the life of the village carpenter who was able to make most wooden items that the local population required, from simple clothes chests to cart wheels. See the displays of joinery tools and workshop machines which were used for carpentry tasks, many of which were still in use until the 1970s. Also feel free to walk around and enjoy the Victorian garden at the back of the workshop buildings.
We in the local community are trying to have the museum and workshop open to help share some of the rich history of our village.
If, for any reason, the door isn't open then please call the number below and someone will be with you within a few minutes to give you access. Many thanks for your support.
